Storytelling Through Photography – Capturing Cultural Expressions

In this workshop, Storytelling Through Photography, you’ll explore the art of capturing authentic stories of diverse cultural expressions. Designed for photographers seeking to document the experiences of communities different from their own, this workshop will teach you how to approach and photograph respectfully and responsibly, ensuring that each image reflects an understanding free from judgment.

You will learn essential techniques and insights, including:

  • Building Cultural Awareness: Discover how to approach and work within communities different from your own, understanding the nuances that shape each story.
  • Respectful Engagement: Learn how to listen and observe without preconceived notions, allowing each individual’s unique cultural expression to guide your narrative approach.
  • Thoughtful Photography: Develop skills to create images that honor the authenticity of each story, capturing moments that resonate truthfully and meaningfully.

Cancelation Policy

The Light Factory reserves the right to cancel, combine, or reschedule courses to adjust for enrollment and to change course instructors when necessary. If The Light Factory cancels a course for any reason, each registered participant will be informed as soon as possible and will have the opportunity to transfer to another course.

Fees must be paid at the time of registration. You must cancel a minimum of five days before the course start date to receive a refund. No refunds will be made for canceling on the day of the course or after the course has started.

The Light Factory does not offer make-up courses or tuition reimbursement for student absenteeism. This policy applies to all students of all ages, including adults.
