Echoes of the Past: 1800s Photographic Processes

Echoes of the Past: 1800s Photographic Processes Exhibition explores alternative processes like platinum-palladium, wet plate, salt printing, gum printing, lumen printing, and cyanotypes to name a few.
These techniques continue to inspire and challenge contemporary artists and photographers who seek to push the boundaries of the medium even though they have been around since the early days of photography. This enduring fascination with traditional processes speaks to their timeless relevance and artistic potential.
Alternative photography printing offers a profoundly creative process, providing a unique opportunity for artists to interact with and transform a variety of objects and surfaces. This aspect adds a layer of artistic exploration and experimentation, encouraging artists to push the boundaries of traditional photography. In an era dominated by digital technology, many artists are drawn to the tactile nature of these traditional processes. This hands-on approach allows artists to intimately engage in material selection and image creation, fostering a deeper connection to their art.
