DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening reception as we celebrate the accomplishments of these talented emerging artists: Hector Vaca Cruz\, Lauren Goodwin\, Mia Gaitsch-Aguirre\, Brittani Taylor\, James Divers\, Shaggy Jackson\, and Wendy Hernandez. \n\n\n\nTitus Brooks Heagins has been giving back to the photography community through his mentorship at The Light Factory. Now in its third year\, Titus and The Light Factory continue to support another group of emerging photographers\, this time embracing a diverse cohort that includes Black\, White\, LatinX\, and LGBTQIA+ identifying artists. Over the course of the 10-month program\, the mentees were encouraged to think outside the box in creating a body of work\, learned how to articulate their vision clearly\, and cultivated a lasting community of photographers for mutual support.

DESCRIPTION:Invented by Pierre Cordier in 1956\, he claims Chemigrams to be “most likely\, the ultimate adventure of gelatin silver bromide.” Learn how to incorporate painting\, drawing\, and printmaking processes into traditional silver gelatin darkroom paper through the cameraless Chemigram process. Instructor Bridget Conn will give an overview of how Chemigrams work\, demonstrate a variety of tools and methods to explore mark-making\, and give guidance on how to achieve control over value\, texture\, and even color.
