Instructor positions
We are always looking for wonderful instructors in all areas and levels of photography and filmmaking. Instructors should have an advanced degree or equivalent experience in either photography or filmmaking, as well as relevant teaching experience. Educators are contracted on a class-by-class basis and pay is commensurate to the experience of the specific teacher.
The Light Factory’s current needs include commercial photography, fine art photography, digital photography, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, stop motion animation, darkroom photography, and digital filmmaking. Candidates will be interviewed for contract positions working with Adults Classes, Weekend Workshops for Teens, Summer Camps Grades 2-12, or Outreach Education with Grades k-12.
Please send a letter of interest, a link to your portfolio, and your resume to the Director of Education.
Internships
The Light Factory is proud to be a member of Share Charlotte, a website (currently under construction) dedicated to connecting neighbors and non-profits throughout our community. They currently seek an intern to help with filming and editing. For more information on this opportunity, click here.
The Light Factory educates students on the arts administration and business side of photography and filmmaking. The Light Factory accepts student internships from UNC Charlotte, Winthrop University, Queens University and other institutes. Students need not have experience in photography or filmmaking to intern at The Light Factory, but we do expect hard work, eagerness to learn and punctuality. Internships are not paid.
For more information, please contact the Director of Education.
