On Thursday, Feb. 21, The Light Factory will welcome Mikael Owunna to the gallery for an artist talk. From his experiences as a Duke Biomedical Engineering graduate to becoming a Fulbright scholar and New York Times published photographer, Owunna will recount his artistic journey and discuss how to look into yourself to find your artistic voice.

Owunna (b. 1990) is an award-winning queer Nigerian-Swedish artist and photographer, born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He has degrees in Biomedical Engineering and History (Duke University ’12), and his work centers around identity while bending the medium with his engineering and multidisciplinary background.
