This camp teaches you how to make amazing photos using your digital camera. You will take photos in and around Plaza Midwood and talk about what makes your photos just that good. At the end of the summer, your best images will be matted and displayed on our gallery walls. Bring your family and friends to the closing reception and show them what a talented photographer you are.
We encourage you to bring your own DSLR or point and shoot camera but we also have a few DSLR cameras on site that can be borrowed for the week!
This summer, we are offering a fun, creative camp for elementary school age children! Kids have a truly unique way of seeing their world and capturing details in nature or moments in their day that are full of life! This week long camp will meet for two hours in the morning, and we will explore our neighborhood with cameras and scavenger hunts. Kids will learn the basics of “looking for light” and composition– chances are, their photos will turn out better than most of our own!
Learn how to make amazing portraits of yourself and your friends with your digital camera. Students will be introduced to professional lighting equipment– multiple lights, modifiers and gels. Your favorites will be on display in our gallery at the end of summer camp reception.
Students should have a good understanding of their digital cameras before taking this camp.
Take a step back into the past with film photography. Students will be provided with 35mm cameras and will learn how to make photographs using a fully manual camera. Students will process their film, make enlargements and learn how to print their images in the darkroom! At the end of the summer, prints will be on display in our gallery for the 2016 summer camp exhibition.
